  1. Having my 2 year old Grandson, Zachary, sing “Happy Birthday” to me and then getting a big hug from him! It just couldn’t get any better!!!!

  2. As a child, my mom always baked a banana cake for my birthday and frosted it with something she called “burnt butter frosting”, so that is one of my best memories….and I loved to lick the frosting pan.

  3. My favorite thing is going to NYC and walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. It awakens so many wonderful feelings, and what better time than on my birthday?!

  4. My favorite birthday treat is not edible (tho my puppy thinks it is!); my mom always writes happy birthday on my bedroom mirror with lipstick, and it has made me wake up smiling for the past 28 years :)

  5. Alright…this is going to seem strange but my favorite birthday treat is MEATLOAF! My husband makes an amazing meatloaf and I get it every year for my birthday. One of the perks to being married to a firefighter is all the great recipes he brings home from work!

  6. My favorite birthday treat is a family recipe for peanut butter chocolate chip cake. It tastes like a big reese’s peanut butter cup and is so, so delicious!!

  7. Favorite b-day treat is really the whole day, we have a tradition that what you say goes from activities to food. The day is all yours…if you can survive everyone busting in your room at the crack of dawn to sing happy birthday at the top of their lungs :) That’s love!

  8. Spending a day from morning until evening with my husband, usually on the Sunday closest to my birthday. And we spend the whole day together, out and about, doing fun things all day long!!! For example, we might walk along the Dequindre Cut, ride bikes on Belle Isle, take in an exhibit at a local museum, attend a festival, go see a movie or a play, and eat…at our favorite diners and restaurants. In the evening we would go out to hear a favorite band. And we do the same for his birthday.

  9. I’m going to be 60 this yearin October! YIKES!!! Had plans to go to Las Vegas, but, gonna stay close to home and celebrate with family, friends and a trip to Fireflies!!

  10. Each year that my boyfriend and I have been together, he’s invented a drink and dinner entree just for me. Having a romantic evening in with a meal created just for me is my favorite treat.

  11. my favorite birthday treat is a cake made by my mom…I have never ever tasted a cake that is better than hers! I look forward to it every year (and I am 30 now!).

  12. My favorite birthday treat used to be when my husband John came to your store to get me a gift on his way home from work. He no longer works in Royal Oak, boo hoo. So now I just enjoy cake.

  13. Mmmm. My favorite birthday treat is a meatball sub from Argiero’s in Ann Arbor, a red velvet cheesecake cupcake from Just Baked here in Livonia, and control of the remote for the evening…

  14. I think that it’s really very interesting that BOTH Catching Fireflies & my dear “Soul Sister” Patricia Fleischman share the same birthdate – AUG 25th!! However Patty is just a little bit older then TEN :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you both!!! OH, by the way…Patty absolutely loves Red Velvet Cake :)

  15. Having my grandkids over to my house for dinner every year on their actual birthday. They are seated in a special person’s decorated chair and their faces light up.

  16. My favorite birthday treat is a cake (any cake) as long as it is made by my mom. Yum – what is better than guilt free birthday cake – and PS September is MY birthday month too…

  17. My Favorite Birthday Treat was a ‘cookie cake’ with Cookie Monster on it from when I was 5! I thought it was the coolest cake I had ever seen! My other favorite Birthday Treat was getting my father ice cream cakes so that one day a year we could have ice cream for breakfast!

  18. Cake made by my mom is the best! i usually have white cake with chocolate frosting and my sister (i was born on her fourth birthday) she always wants chocolate cake with chocolate frosting…
SO we get the best of both worlds :)
thanks for an opportunity to WIn!

  21. I have 2 different favorite birthday treat cakes, the first one is plain cheesecake with a regular brown cracker crust, the 2nd one is pineapple upside cake. I can’t help it, I love them both. :)
