As a child, my mom always baked a banana cake for my birthday and frosted it with something she called “burnt butter frosting”, so that is one of my best memories….and I loved to lick the frosting pan.

Alright…this is going to seem strange but my favorite birthday treat is MEATLOAF! My husband makes an amazing meatloaf and I get it every year for my birthday. One of the perks to being married to a firefighter is all the great recipes he brings home from work!

Spending a day from morning until evening with my husband, usually on the Sunday closest to my birthday. And we spend the whole day together, out and about, doing fun things all day long!!! For example, we might walk along the Dequindre Cut, ride bikes on Belle Isle, take in an exhibit at a local museum, attend a festival, go see a movie or a play, and eat…at our favorite diners and restaurants. In the evening we would go out to hear a favorite band. And we do the same for his birthday.
