some of our favorite finds for mum’s day

May 1, 2012
By

There’s just 11 more days until we take time out to really celebrate our moms! Team catching fireflies has been making their gift lists and here a few of their picks…

This will sure come in handy when traveling… I always want to take my perfume with me, but not the whole bottle! Just a little something that makes my life easier–love it :) $14.95

The message is simple, but the bud vase brings the words to life. What a sweet gift for any Mother to receive. $23.50

I love this nail file and couldn’t wait to give it to my mom. Fun memories of growing up are of my mom and I doing our nails. This nail file will never wear out and is decorated so cute. My mom loves hers and I’m sure your mom will too! $9.95

Why shouldn’t mom enjoy her favorite tunes while relaxing around the house on Mother’s Day or any other day she selects? It’s a surprisingly simple idea that produces a nice sound and is portable as well as nearly indestructible. A great combination for a mom on the move. $12.95

I have given this as a gift for many of my “mom” friends. Life is so hectic that having a little something that is just for mom to enjoy is always nice. A moment to ourselves to enjoy the aromatherapy! $7.95

I love inspirational quotes and these words couldn’t be more true. Being a mother is one of the most rewarding things in my life. My family is a gift that I cherish everyday! $17.95

Give a practical gift with a sweet sentiment. Mom will love cooking with this spoon that will always remind her of who loves her the most! $9.95

I love all of the chill pill bath fizzes! With Mother’s Day coming up, they are a great gift idea. Every mom deserves some relaxation. I know my mom will love them! $6.95

I’m giving this to all my “mom” girlfriends this year. I always get to sit back and laugh when they are trying to make the best cupcakes for school or find the perfect outfit for school pictures. These are never what we remember about mom when we think back. It’s those everyday things that moms do all the time and don’t think twice about.  $10

I am fairly certain my mom does save the world (at least mine) on a daily basis. I am definitely certain that she will enjoy her wine in this fun wine glass. $24.95

I’ve seen a lot of different bird houses & these clearly are the most charming. You can keep them inside for decor or hang one in your yard & let a local bird family live in high style. I’m getting my mom this daffodil one for Mother’s Day & I gotta feeling it will find a home near her sun room. $27.95

Don’t get us wrong, we love our jellybeans, robin eggs, peeps & anything chocolate wrapped in pastel foil… but we’re also fans of fun finds that will give your kiddos an extra big grin on Easter morning. Here are some of our picks for your Easter basket.

I am giving this to my nephew for Easter.  Included will be plastic Easter eggs filled with cheerios! $7.99

This pretty spring time flower will look cute in any little girl’s Easter basket. And it’s super practical. This Easter my daughter will be getting this as her first coin purse! $4.95

Who wouldn’t smile seeing themselves rocking a Tom Selleck style mustache circa 1985? Burt Reynolds and David Crosby knew what they were doing, now it’s your turn. Have fun. $3.95

What is an Easter basket without a bunny? This bunny is fuzzy, furry and oh so cuddly! Can’t wait for my daughter to see hers on Easter day. $27.95

I just love this whistle that sounds like a bird singing. I have used them in birthday gift bags and include them in Easter baskets. The kids and adults love them! $1.25

Jump start those creative juices in boys and gals of all ages. It’s fun finding different objects and textures to see what kind of impression they’ll leave. You can keep it simple or delve deeper into more intricate designs. Just add sun. $7.50

These could have really come in handy during those long summer vacations when my daughter was little…even the most creative of moms run of out of ideas eventually! $20

I love how 2 eyes can transform a blob of putty into a multitude of crazy creatures. It may not come in an egg, but I’d have to believe this would be one fun find for Easter. $12.95

You can never have too much lip balm! The flavored lip balm is a great idea for an Easter basket stuffer to add a little extra treat! I’m looking forward to giving this to my little cousin who is nuts about brownies and will go crazy for this! $2.95

This is a great game to play with the whole family! My first and fourth graders love to play and spell out their spelling words for the week. This is great gift to to give as a present or to put in an Easter basket! $14.95

I will admit I am slightly obsessed with mustache items! This is a perfect gift for someone that shares my obsession and is an unique item to put inside of an Easter basket. $3.95

I have given this quote to a few people, my kid’s babysitter and a teacher. It’s such a great sentiment for someone who brings happiness into your life! $33.50

Natural and green, that’s the way to clean. No nasty smells and fumes.Cheaper too!
Bought this book for my daughter, who was expecting a baby. She loved it! $15.95

I love this magnet. It’s a great gift to give someone when you find out they are having a baby. I’ve given several out as a “congratulations on your pregnancy” gift. Brings a smile (and sometimes a joyful tear) to the new expectant mom! $5.00

I gave this to my girlfriend who’s a teacher to put on her desk at school. The kids are always picking “flowers” for her and now they have a special place to put them. $23.50

I’ve always loved this quote by Henry van Dyke & it happily hangs in my dining room as a constant reminder of the many blessings that surround me everyday. $265.00

I’m always amazed to hear about achievements made at young ages and inspired equally by those who wait until later in life to accomplish great things. A fun read that can show you there’s still time left to make a difference by following a dream. $9.95

Looking for something special to surprise your sweetheart, friend or family member?  Team catching fireflies thinks these goodies are pretty great…

The beautiful quotes in this book are a great way to show how much you appreciate your mother. It is also really simple to personalize by including special pictures and stories that fit each of the quotes. $14.50

A girl can never have too much jewelry (in my opinion)…and this great piece has a nice message :) Looks great on its own or layered with other bracelets. $15.95

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy a vase of pretty posies, but I love the idea of creating a permanent bouquet that I can add to throughout the year.
